so i had my 1st BIG solo show today.although everything did not go as planned it went well nonetheless. i will post pics tomorrow. its over YAY.. school starts back this week....so i will post as often as possible.

9 months to go

holy sh!t. we only have 9 months to go! OMG time freakin flies by... starting to feel the pressure!

ok so i was all excited about my bm dresses and getting ready to unveil to you guys and guess what??? you are not going to believe this... the bridal shop doesn't have my color or as they explained the manufacturer doesn't offer the dress in my color. and i am so sad :(

i had a lot of errands to run as i am preparing for my 1st HUGE bridal show on sunday (later for that) so i stopped by the shop to physically look at the dress b/c i just saw it online and fell in love with it so i was all eager and anxious to see it. well i was disappointed in the actual dress. why you ask?

1. its taffeta and in my humble opinion it can appear to shiny and cheaper fabrics makes noise when you move
2. it didn't look the way it did online.. neither of them had as much volume. but it may look better on someone nit just the hanger..so i plan to bring one of girls to it on just to see if i really like it
3. they don't offer my color

being the person that i am...when i got home i checked online again and i noted where http://www.bestbridalprices.com/ has the dress and listed is a color that may work but as i mentioned the bridal shop called the manufacturer and they advised that the colors they showed me are the only colors available.. so now i am confused. if any of you know anything about how this is possible PLEASE advise me...anyway here are the dress(es)that i wanted!

i have since started looking at other options and here are some dresses that i like....

our wedding colors plum (purple), kelly green, copper, and hint of yellow. i really want copper dresses but i am having a hard time finding them everything is either burnt orange or cinnamon so my search will continue. i noticed that david's bridal has the colors but not the styles i am interested in. i may have to look into having the dresses made.. a fellow blogger ebonee blogged about milly bridal i may have contact them. wish me luck.. thx for reading and all of your comments...

Oh my....

i am so EXCITED! for the past two days i have been searching for bm dresses and i have found something that i LOVE! it so me! the only thing is that orginally i wanted the girls to wear different dresses with the same color. but now i have 2 different styles for 5 'maids. so i might vary the colors for the 1 style i like the most.now i'm on the search for shoes... pics to come.

Ok so I have...

to get down to business and serious about wedding planning. i have spent alot of time on the net and looking a blogs its time to get down to business. Ok so here is the laudry list of some of the things that i need to do...

• hire a baker- we have an appt with the final baker on 1.23.10
• decide on dj- i know i still haven't decided yet (after the bridal show on sun we will make the final decision and cut the check:)
• find a videographer/cinematographer
• have the final engagement session so that we can get std's designed and completed ( i will reveal all the deets about std's in a later post but i have decided on a design concept that i love!!!)
• make a list of all the diy projects and began them.....( i did start on the flower girl pomander but i don't love them i used silk gerber daisies but it looks wack so i will re-vise them a bit pics to come
• order and purchase lighting a consult on 1.11.10 )
• find mr. htb a ring that i feel is fit for him ( originally i wanted to get him 2 one for everyday wear and then one bling'ed out but we may have to meet in the middle)
• decide and design all things paper -invites etc ( i have an idea but nothing in stone yet )
• pick out the bm dresses..( i went looking a david's today and that don't have my color so the search is on...)
• make the jewelry for the girls...part of my diy project list
• think about programs .....
• decide on the linens
• decide on exits
• decide on music and songs
• oot bags and items
• signages
• and the list goes on and on and on .....

i feel a tad bit behind but we are going to be ok... i hope.. maybe i will try to convince my fi to push the wedding back :)

new years resolutions????

ok so like most i don't make "new year's resolutions" but i do like most take this time and self evaluate and see what changes that i need to make and what improvements can be made.. as i reflect over 2009 i feel that i accomplished most of what i can remember i set out to accomplish and i am excited and thankful for that. but 2009 was about me and now 2010 is about us .... mr htb (hoppinthebroom) and me and it's different b/c i now think about how my actions will affect our lives... so my goal for 2010 is to a better person all around! to accomplish this goal i would like to finally once and for all lose this damn weight! i feel like a slave for food it terrible. and to make it so bad before mr htb i had just lost 75 pounds but hey i am back at it again.

1. lose weight
2. lose weight
3. fit in a beautiful wedding dress
4. obsess over losing weight
5. obsess more over losing weight
6. start a new blog about my weight loss journey :0)

but seriously i am really going to devote 100% to this lifestyle change. i also plan to get my business off the ground and profitable during 2010. i would like to spend more time with our families at least visit his once a month and do more with my mother. with all the wedding things to be done what is be easy to accomplish. i also plan to strengthen my relationship with God and loosen up a little. i turn 30 this year and i am excited! i feel good so what are if any your new year's goals or resolutions??

happy new year everyone! i had everyone has a great christmas! i have been MIA lately since on break from school. we have accomplished so much with the house and i am currently doing diy projects! trying to make definate decisons for the wedding! i will post pics soon! be safe and enjoy 2010!!

THE SEMESTER IS O-V-E-R!

SCHOOL IS FINALLY OUT! THANK GOD I MADE IT THRU A GRUELING SEMESTER! I took my last final yesterday! I can officially began my 5-week marathon wedding planning. Two days ago we hit the 10 month mark. Time flies by! So we have to decide on a DJ and hire a baker!
I got some pics from our new house that I will share them later and we made an appt for a pre-marital counseling for the first of the year. I am sick right now so I am stuck in the house but it gives me some much needed rest and I can catch up on my blogs!

I feel so out of the loop with the wedding planning. I have been so busy with school now I don't know where to pick-up. Some of the girls and I are going dress shopping for them during the break so that should be fun! We are scheduled to take the 2nd set of ePics @ the top of the year and I plan to have the STD's out by Feb. So that's about it from the wedding standpoint.

Our mini house renovations are coming along. We just got our living room floors finished and it looks pretty good if I must say so myself. If I must offer one bit of advice to other brides or brides-to -be don't buy an house and plan a wedding at the same time. In my mind it seemed like a good idea but in reality the house stuff is more important to me than the wedding so I am so much more focused on creating this house into a home than I am planning the wedding. I know that's seems crazy but it's true! anyway I'm going to read other blogs now!

i'll admit...

that i have become a slack blogger. i have been so busy and i know i say that everytime but good gosh i am ready for things to slow down a bit. the summer was wonderful. with x-mas quickly approaching i can get some much needed rest and relaxation. my 30th b-day is right around the corner and i'm about to embrace another chapter of my life. i can't believe how fast time goes by. now i think about one day becoming a mother and in a few month becoming a wife. my fi always says that that commercial is true. LIFE COMES AT YOU FAST! at the close of every year i always reflect back on the things that i have accomplished and the things that are still a work in progress and i have come so far and i am so grateful for all things and people in my life. on a lighter note ..... we have a 2 cake tasting coming up during the break so hopefully we will be booking a baker soon. i am still in turmoil about the dj i just can't decide that yet. that is a very important decision for us. i did get a new camera on black friday so plenty of pics to come.
i am starting a slew of dyi projects on the break as well as getting the house in some type of order...other than that we are getting the accustomed to living together...teehee i am proctoring an exam so i gotta go.....
