BROKE

We will be married 2 months in 2 days and I can't believe that we are BROKE. LOL!!! We didn't put any wedding expenses on credit cards or take out any loans to pay for the wedding. But we used a lot of our savings to pay for it. Now don't get me wrong if I had to do it all over again I WOULD. Needless to say I am on the hunt for a PT job. I work as a adjunct instructor at a local community college while I attend Grad school FT and the semester ends this week. So I am off for like 5 weeks until next semester which is great because I still get PAID!!! But since the wedding I don't have the disposable income that I normally would have and it's the holidays. My company is always slow around this season b/c there are not a lot of weddings. I have a few X-mas parties booked but my calender is really open. I have a huge bridal show coming in Jan that will bring in some traffic so I look forward to that. But in the meantime I went on an interview for a job yesterday and I think I really want to work there. It appeared to be a good working environment and I can learn a lot. So I am keeping my fingers crossed.... the down side is that I may have to work 12HR shifts which suck but I will be PRN which is a great b/c they work around my school and work schedule. I will probably only work like 2x a week but the knowledge obtained is invaluable.

Last name game

I started this post right after the wedding and never uploaded it and this topic has came across my mind once again. Unlike most newly married women I didn't come straight home from the honeymoon and get on the phone and start changing my last name and I still have not done it. WHY? Because I can't figure out what I want to do. I have had my {maiden} last name all of my life and I'm attached to it some kind of way. So there lies my dilemma. Should I hyphenate which I hear causes lots of problems? Or should I have double last names like Hilliary Diane Rodham Clinton? I am not willing to just drop my last name right now at least. I am still in Grad school and it would cause a host of problems for me. I am not interested in dropping my middle name to replace my last name with my middle name. From my research I only have the 2 options I just described and keeping my name the way it is.

I know different people do things for different reasons. Neither of us have any children and I am 100% on board for our children to have DH's last name and at that point I would also want to have the last name as well. This is a 1st marriage for both of us. I have academic publications in my maiden last name and we all know how hard it can be to be published. My previous degrees are all in my maiden name and I hopefully I will be graduating again in a few months. I guess I have to make some decision soon. We discussed before marriage and I still could not decide but now that we are married I have to make a decision. My DHs feelings would be hurt if I don't change my name so I either have to hyphenate or have double last names... any thoughts
