We are REGISTERED!

So we officially started our wedding registry at Bed Bath &Beyond on 05.16.09. We actually had fun doing it. FI loves to cook so we got all kinds of kitchen gadgets. We only selected kitchen, dining room items because we are in the process of buying OUR 1st home (excited) so we don't know how we will decorate the bath, bedrooms etc right now. But we did at least start it. I know its early but we have the eParty next week and I know that people are not required to bring gifts but a few have asked so we wanted them to have options.
Here are a few pics of us.

e.Party Update

I have been so busy with work and getting the final details completed for the eParty. I am making personalized wedding party cards/gifts. I will post the pics once all of them are completed. The party is drawing near and my goal is to get everything completed by this weekend so that I can just be coasting next week. I am really adamant about having a small bridal party. I will post the pics of them after the eParty. I have to work on our wedding website I have had a hard time choosing a place to host the site. I will continue my search. I have this new idea that I want the kids in attendance to have snow cones. So I am on the search for a snow cone machine and I don't want to rent so wish me luck...

We are having a Luau!

We are currently planning our Engagement Party. Most of friends and family already know that we are engaged but we wanted the families to meet and have a good time together before the wedding events. After pondering over what type of party to have we decided on a "Luau themed" BBQ. Just a little gathering of our families and friends. I'm very excited. I LOVE to plan parties so here are the details.

The date is 06.07.09 as I said it is a luau themed BBQ at a Sesqui Park. I pray that it doesn't rain and that it's not to hot. In SC it's get very hot and humid during the summer. I wanted to pick a place that was indoor/and outdoor but my FI wanted to pick a place and stick with it. I did DYI invites that I actually think came out pretty cute. We are officially announcing the wedding party at the party. I am giving out my DYI "Will you be my...(bridesmaid, groomsmen, etc" cards/gifts at the party. We hired a photography to take pics. This is my first time using this photographer personally she is not the photographer that we hired for the wedding. I couldn't afford the wedding photographer to do the E.party but she is amazing. The photographer that we hired has worked with some of my brides. Her name is Anita and her company is A and B Photography. I meet with her last Tuesday and she was very nice and informative. So I feel comfortable and confident with her. I personally like the photojournalistic approach so we will see. If she does well I will also hire her do my engagement session and showers, etc I will definitely post pics.

Here are some pics of the picnic shelter at the park for the Luau.

Engagement: 1.25.09

Hooray!!! I have been trying to make this little collage of our eDay since last night. For the life of me I can't work Photoshop. I know it's supposed to be great but I not seeing it right now. Anyway. The above pics came from our eDay back in Jan. I love engagement stories so here is mine:
We got engaged on 1.25.2009 at Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC. It was my birthday weekend. On that Saturday before Teddy said that he had plans and that he would see me later so I went shopping with his sister Tammy and her friends. Later that afternoon we went to my favorite restaurant that he hates for dinner. After dinner he reserved a room at the ES where he had decorated with candles and music etc. Anthony Hamilton was playing and I said let’s dance how we going to dance at the wedding (we had been discussing marriage a lot during that time) and so we starting dancing under the moonlight (that shined thru the window). Then we went to bed. The next day we had lunch-pizza at the hotel restaurant and headed to the Zoo. It was a little cold out so I really wanted to renege and go someplace warm but I went along for the ride because I knew he had planned this date for my birthday.
At this point we are walking around at the Zoo talking and taking pics and now we are at the exit area and there are some benches and he sits down and says that his leg hurts so I sit next to him and we just talking and he asks “you know why I brought you here” and I'm like yeah this is where we had our first date and he’s like what else so I’m pondering all the dates we have had there and the next thing I knew he is on one knee I am looking so shocked I thought he was joking and then he pulls out the ring and says this is also the place where I am asking you to marry me. I so shocked because I knew he was going to ask this year but I had no clue when. I was the most shocked that I have ever been in all my life. Words can’t describe the emotions that I felt. We both cried and hugged. My engagement ring was his mother’s engagement ring and his parents have been married for 36 years this year. I am honored to be a part of their family legacy.
Fast forward to present so we have been engaged for almost 4 months. Our wedding date is semi-set for 10.09.10. We wanted to get married on FI's b-day which is 10.2 but we are both students so I want to plan the wedding so that our Fall Breaks fall on our honeymoon. So we have tentatively decided to push it back a week. Getting married in the middle of the semester is not the best idea but I am in graduate school so I will be there for quite sometime. I wasn't going to wait until I graduated. So let's hope this works well. I will be in my second year of clinicals during that time. My goal is to get everything done at least 3 months before the wedding. So that I can enjoy the events.
The one thing that is in my favor is that I worked as an Event Planner and still do events part-time so I know what needs to be done. But one thing I have learned so far is that IT IS EASIER TO PLAN OTHER PEOPLES STUFF THAN IT IS PLANNING YOUR OWN. I am blessed because being in the industry I know what vendors to choice and which ones to stay away from and I so so so grateful of that because choosing the wrong vendors can ruin your special day.
I know that this post is long but I have so much to say. Until later.

Can I have a Boom-Boom-Bam?

This is my blogging debut. I decided to create a blog to document our wedding planning. I want to have a place to share with friends and family near and far about the events as they unfold. So before we deal with the present and the future. Let's talk about the past.
My FI (Teddy) and I met on October 13, 2006 at a local bowling alley where he was the bartender. I went into the bar to get a drink after seeing a guy that I was "semi-dating" there with another girl. The thing you need to you is that I HARDLY EVER DRINK. So I walk in the bar ask for a phony drink just to see if he is going to entertain me and he's like I never heard of that and I'm like are you sure and he responds yeah. So I tell him that I was just kidding and I order the only drink I know. Armetto sour and the story begins...
